GREAT NEWS!!!!

GREAT NEWS!!! I saw my breast surgeon today and got very good news! The cancer is responding wonderfully to the chemo and she could barely feel the tumor anymore! It's nearly gone after only two treatments! This is fabulous news! God is good ya'll!! Prayer's are being answered positively!! I cannot express how thankful I am for your prayers loved ones! Keep them coming!

I feel good today. It seems to be every other day that I feel well enough to do things. Yesterday I was pretty much wiped out. But, that's ok. If I feel good I am going to do what I want to do even if I have to rest the day after. Call me stubborn, but I refuse to hole up and do nothing just because I "might" be really tired the next day. I've got to live this chemo life until November and I am going to make the best of the good days.

I had a good day on my birthday. I felt good, thankfully, and was able to get out and do a little shopping. I bought a bunch of bandanas. My head is so sore and sensitive and it is so stinking hot outside that soft cotton bandanas are the only thing I can stand to put on my head. So, I bought a bunch in every color I could find and now my bald head is happy! :)  Once it gets colder I'll be able to wear the other beanies I bought, but for right now they are just too hot! My boys bought me a TV for my bedroom so I can watch TV on the days I feel too bad to get out of bed. What an awesome birthday present!! :)

Unfortunately, I now have chemo mouth. The cells in your mouth normally rejuvenate quickly but due to chemo mine do not. Thus I now have what feels like a rash along my gums and the beginnings of ulcers. So, I am now rinsing my mouth frequently with salt water and using my Duke's Magic Mouthwash. Hopefully, that will stop it in its tracks. So far no thrush this time, hooray!

They are going to schedule my double mastectomy for mid-December.  This, of course, could change if there are any delays in my treatment schedule but I am praying there will be no delays! It would be good to not have to start over on the deductible for sure so I'm praying for surgery before the end of the year.

I have an echocardiogram this afternoon to check that my heart it doing ok. The adriamycin is hard on your heart so they want to check it during treatment to be sure it is handling it ok.

I'm already dreading my next chemo. Ugh. Two more red devils. You're gonna hear me shout hallelujah when I am done with those!!

Today's Prayer Requests:

  1. Pray that I stay on schedule so that I can be done with chemo in time to have surgery in December.
  2. Praise that the cancer is responding to Chemo!! Keep praying loved ones!!
  3. Pray that my echocardiogram will be normal.
  4. Pray for my family.
  5. Pray for me to be brave, strong, stay well, and remain positive.
