Patience is a Virtue....

Thought I would check in with everyone. We are still here in Chattanooga, TN at my parent's house. No idea when we will be able to return home as all roads into Wilmington are flooded and closed. We were able to get some photos of our house from friends and it doesn't look like we had too much damage from the outside. We are missing shingles and have a tree down on our shed and our fence but everything else looked ok and the power is back on. Hopefully, the roof is not leaking and we won't find a mess inside when we are finally able to get back home. We are trying to be patient! Flooding in our neighborhood came very close but didn't quite reach our home. We are praying when the rivers crest again today and tomorrow that it won't begin rising again.

I am supposed to have another chemo treatment on the 24th but my guess is that will not happen. I'm ok with waiting another week or so. This last treatment was the hardest yet and I could use a little more time to recover. Thus far the treatments are working very well with the tumors almost completely gone already. If for some reason I am unable to get treatment for an extended period of time, I may have to look into going elsewhere for treatment. I hope I don't have to, but it is an option I may have to consider.

I think we may go to the TN Aquarium today or tomorrow. They are offering half-price tickets for evacuees and it seems to good an opportunity to miss. I am finally feeling better today and definitely getting a bit of cabin fever.

I am so sad for my town. So many people's homes are completely ruined. It is going to take a very long time to recover from this disaster. Please keep all those affected in your prayers.

  1. Pray for all those affected by Hurricane Florence.
  2. Pray for the flood waters to recede so we can go back home. 
  3. Pray that my treatments won't be delayed indefinitely.
  4. Pray for my family.
  5. Pray for me to be brave, strong, stay well and positive.

Sometimes, you just have to stop and recognize the amazing people in your life, and today, I want to take a minute to tell you about my husband. A friend recently posed a thought-provoking question on Facebook: "If you woke up today knowing it would be your last day on earth, what would you do? Who would you spend your time with?" This question made me pause and reflect, as many of her posts do.
