Problems, Prayers and Peace...
"I was once told it feels better to move towards a problem than it does to move away from it. They were right." ~ Tomorrow Girl
I've been moving toward this problem in my life for the last six months. I cannot imagine running away from it. I'm a problem solver by nature. That's why I love my job at the Technology Help Desk. Tonight as I think about my upcoming surgery, I'm not nervous at all. I'm anxious for it to be done. Now, that doesn't mean that the night before I won't have a bit of a freakout. I probably will, but that's ok. I've got my family to keep me focused and my God to calm my heart and mind and give me that peace that passes all understanding. I'm so ready.
I met with my oncologist this past week. He was very impressed with how I handled chemo and how I was able to stay on track without any setbacks. He told me that I will have to go for a consult with a radiologist to see if they think I will need radiation. He said I probably won't need it. He apologized for having to put me through it all. I thanked him for putting me through it, for doing a job that has to be very, very hard some days and for always being so understanding and kind. The next day I met with my plastic surgeon and he explained everything he would be doing, what can go right and what can go wrong. He was very kind and gave me a big hug before he left. I then went to the Medical Mall for pre-admission tests. The nurses were amazing and kind and I couldn't have had a better experience. Honestly, the doctors and nurses I've seen throughout this journey have been wonderful. That is an answered prayer, my friends.
Bella has been keeping me very busy this week and it has been just what I needed. She has attached herself to me and takes nearly every step I take throughout the day. She has learned her name and learned how to sit this week. We found out that she LOVES carrots. I think they feel good on her gums. That's good because her baby teeth are like needles! She's making progress with house training as long as I pay attention to what she's doing and take her out the second she wakes from a nap. She's sleeping very well at night in her crate with minimal fuss. This morning Max finally decided to play with her and they raced and tumbled around for about half an hour before they both needed a nap. Roxie is still being the fun police and grumbling, LOL! I've taken her on a couple of short walks. She is so curious about everything outside that she doesn't get very far before she has to stop and check something out.
I have some specific things I'd really like ya'll to pray about for me this next week leading up to my surgery. Your prayers have gotten me through the first half of this journey and I know they will carry me through the rest! Thank you loved ones!!

This week's Prayer Requests:
- Pray for my doctors, that they would be well and that God would guide their hands during my surgery.
- Pray that there will be no cancer in my lymph glands.
- Pray that I will not require radiation.
- Pray that there will be adequate blood supply in the skin after my mastectomy so that my plastic surgeon can go ahead with immediate reconstruction. There is a possibility that he will not be able to do anything if the blood supply is not good enough and could have to wait until a later date to do the reconstruction. This is rare, but please pray all will go perfectly.
- Begin praying for my recovery, that it will go smoothly.
- Pray for my parents and Jarod & Aimee as they make their way here on the 11th and the 13th.
- Pray for me to stay well, be brave, strong and stay positive!
