God's Already There: So Why Do We Still Worry?

You ever have one of those moments where you look ahead and think, I have no idea how this is going to work out? Yeah, me too. Whether it’s a big decision, a tough conversation, or just the weight of life stacking up, it’s easy to feel like you’re stepping into the unknown without a clue what’s waiting on the other side.

But here’s the truth I have to remind myself of—God is already there.

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8

God’s Not Just Walking With You—He’s Ahead of You

I don’t know about you, but I like having a plan. I like knowing what’s coming next. But life doesn’t always give us that luxury. Sometimes, we’re stepping into situations where we can’t see the outcome, and that’s when fear and doubt start creeping in.

But here’s what I love about Deuteronomy 31:8—it doesn’t just say that God walks with us. It says He goes before us. That means before you even get to tomorrow, God’s already been there. Before you have that conversation, before you start that new job, before you face that challenge, God has already stepped in and prepared the way.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked back on something I was worried sick about, only to realize that God had it covered the whole time. He lined up the right people, the right timing, the right circumstances—things I never could have orchestrated myself.

And yet, even though He’s proven Himself faithful over and over again, I still catch myself hesitating sometimes. Can you relate?

Fear Lies. God Doesn’t.

Fear has a way of making you forget everything you know to be true. It tells you that you’re alone. That you don’t have what it takes. That you’re stepping into chaos.

But God’s Word says something completely different: You’re not alone. You have Him. And He’s already cleared the way.

That’s why the verse doesn’t just say “God goes before you.” It also says He will never leave you. Not only is He ahead of you, but He’s also with you every step of the way.

So, if fear is telling you to freeze, don’t listen to it. If discouragement is whispering that you’re in this alone, shut it down.

Step Forward Like You Believe It

If I know God is already in my tomorrow, then why would I waste today worrying?

Instead of sitting in fear, I want to start moving forward like I actually believe what He says. Like I believe that He’s got me. Like I believe that He’s already made a way where I don’t see one yet.

Because He absolutely has my friend.

So, whatever you’re facing today—whatever unknown is in front of you—take a deep breath. God is already there. Walk forward with confidence, knowing that you’re not stepping into chaos—you’re stepping into God’s plan.

He’s gone before you. He’s with you...and He’s not leaving.

A Prayer for Today:

Lord, thank You for going before us. When we can’t see the way, remind us that You’ve already cleared the path. Help us to trust You more, to walk forward without fear, and to stand firm in the truth that we are never alone. You are with us, and You will never leave us. We place our worries in Your hands and step forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
