📦 The Way We Pack Our Boxes (and Our Lives)

As we pack up our home for this new adventure, I’ve noticed something: I am meticulous about packing boxes. Every item has its place. Every space is filled like a jigsaw puzzle. No wasted room, no rattling, no guesswork. Each box is perfectly labeled, double-taped, and ready for battle.

Scott, on the other hand? Let’s just say… his approach is a bit more freestyle. 😅 Random items tossed in. Empty gaps galore. The tape? A little wonky. The label? One word: “MISC.” And unfortunately, his boxes often collapse under pressure.

The other day, as I was grumbling (lovingly, of course) about another one of his “creative” boxes, it hit me: this is exactly how we pack our lives.

Some of us are like my boxes. We fill every inch of our lives—our time, our minds, our hearts—with responsibilities, expectations, to-do lists, and noise. We look like we’ve got it all together. Everything is labeled, taped shut, Instagram-ready. But underneath? We’re heavy. Burdened. Exhausted. One more thing, and we buckle.

Others of us live like Scott’s boxes. Rushing through, tossing things in wherever they land. No rhythm, no rest. Just trying to survive the day. And when the weight of life presses down? We collapse—empty in the places that matter most.

But oh, friend…

What if we stopped trying to overfill our lives with things that don’t last?

What if we stopped rushing past the moments that do?

What if—just what if—we made space for the One thing that can actually hold us together?

When we empty the clutter and fill the void with the never-ending, unconditional, unshakable love of Christ, something shifts. We’re no longer crushed by the weight—we’re carried by grace.

Friend, maybe it’s time to repack.

Not just your boxes, but your heart.

Let go of what you don’t need. Make room for what matters most.

And know this: with Jesus as your foundation, you will not collapse.

Let the moving begin. Warrior Mode Activated. 🛡️✝️

Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
